AVM Ilo Assumes Duty as New Commandant, Armed Forces Resettlement Centre
Air Vice Marshal Nnaemeka Ignatius Ilo has assumed office as the new Commandant of the Nigerian Armed Forces Resettlement Centre (NAFRC), following a recent strategic redeployment of senior officers approved by the Chief of the Air Staff (CAS), Air Marshal Sunday Kelvin Aneke.
The redeployment, according to official sources, is aimed at strengthening leadership effectiveness across the Nigerian Air Force and advancing the mandate of the President and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. It forms part of ongoing efforts to enhance institutional capacity, professionalism and the overall preparedness of the Armed Forces in support of national security and development objectives.
Upon assuming office, AVM Ilo embarked on a comprehensive familiarisation tour of the Centre, during which he inspected key facilities, interacted with personnel and staff, and received briefings on ongoing resettlement and vocational training programmes.

The tour, officials said, enabled the new Commandant to assess the operational state of the Centre and identify both immediate priorities and long-term interventions required to strengthen its core mandate of equipping retiring and retired Armed Forces personnel with relevant skills for a smooth and productive transition into civilian life.
Reaffirming his commitment to repositioning the Centre in line with the Federal Government’s broader human capital development agenda, AVM Ilo pledged to prioritise the provision of a conducive learning environment for course participants, alongside improved welfare and working conditions for personnel and staff.
He emphasised that effective leadership, sustained investment in training infrastructure, and the welfare of both instructors and trainees remain critical to building personnel capacity and supporting enduring national security and national development.
NAFRC plays a central role in preparing military personnel for post-service life through vocational training and resettlement programmes designed to promote self-reliance and socio-economic reintegration.
