Appeal Court Upholds Candidature of Abba Yusuf as PDP Flagbearer for Kano

Appeal Court Upholds Candidature of Abba Yusuf as PDP Flagbearer for Kano

The Appeal Court Kaduna division has uphold the candidature of Engr. Abba Kabir Yusuf as the flag-bearer of the Peoples Democratic Party in Kano State for 2019 election.

Delivering the judgment, the justices of the court sitting in Kaduna dismissed an appeal filed by Jafar Sani Bello on ground of merit.

The court re-affirmed the decision of a Kano State High court presided by Justice A. T Badamasi delivered on 14th January, 2019 which dismissed the case on the ground of a statute barred.

The Appeal Court in Kaduna concurred with the judgment of the lower court saying, the case is lacking in merit.

It can be recalled that Jafar Sani Bello, one of the PDP Gubernatorial Aspirants for the October 2nd 2019 PDP primary election sought for a review on the judgment of a Kano High court, praying for the appeal court to declare him as the Candidate of the PDP in Kano State.

Responding on the appeal court judgment, the lawyer to the appelant Barr. Bashir Yusuf Tudun Wazirci, said the ruling re-confirms the authenticity of Abba Kabir’s candidature.

In his reaction, the spokesperson to Engr. Abba Kabir Yusuf, the PDP Governorship Candidate Mal. Sanusi Bature Dawakin-Tofa, applauded the development saying, the victory to the 2019 election is in no distance.

“This is the third csse ruling my boss has won all within the last two months, we have never been afraid of securing this mandate” he said

We urge Jafar Sani Bello and any other bona fide member of the PDP family in Kano to join the rescue mission of freeing Kano from the hands of political free daters.
