Charity in month of Ramadan attracts massive reward—Cleric
An Islamic scholar, Ustaz Mohammed Kabeer Usman, has urged Muslims to imbibe the virtues of giving charity and willingly donating part of their wealth and other material acquisitions for the propagation of Islam, especially in the month of Ramadan.
Ustaz Kabeer Usman, gave the admonition, while delivering a Khutbah (Jumu’at prayer) sermon, at the Wuye Muslim Community Mosque in Abuja.
He noted that the reward of giving charity, like other righteous acts of devotions, is increased in manifold by Allah (SWT) during Ramadan.

“This is the perfect time for rich Muslims to cater for the welfare of the needy, less privilege and vulnerable persons in the society. They should give out charity to the poor. They should know that the month of Ramadan comes with a promo on reward. Whatever act of Ibadat a Muslim performs, no matter how little, will harvest multitude rewards during Ramadan,” he said.
The Islamic cleric, cautioned the Muslim Ummah and youths against returning to old bad habits and sinful acts after the Holy month, saying “It is expected that every Muslim adheres to the tenets of fasting. Let’s eschew acts that can invalidate our fast and make us incur the wrath of our Creator.”
On the security challenges facing the country, Ustaz Kabeer Usman, called on all Muslims and Nigerians to be vigilant, leave harmoniously with one another and continuously pray for the peace, unity and stability of the nation.
He charged the congregation to donate financially towards the completion of the Wuye Jumuat Mosque project, still undergoing construction.
