Again, Nigerian Army Calls for Military-Media Relations
The Nigerian Army has called on the media to supports military campaigns against armed banditry, terrorism and other criminalities through objective and fair reportage.
The Chief of Policy and Plans Lieutenant General Lamidi Adeosun made the call when he received a delegation from Africa Stewardship Magazine at the Army headquarters.
Adeosun was speaking on behalf of the Chief of Army, Lt. General Tukur Buratai.
The army chief said the media have a lot of critical roles to play toward in security, stability and national development through their untiring efforts of editing news reports and other materials being published or broadcast by your respective medium.

“In the Nigerian Army we strongly believe that the media are our critical partners and stakeholders towards ensuring the public are adequate and better informed on the accomplishments of the troops against the enemies of state.
“While we carry out military operations on behalf of the Nigerian State and the people, the media should enlighten the people to enable them understand, support our efforts and appreciate our sacrifices.
“Members of the Fourth Estate should imbibe the ethics of journalism and always be objective in their reportage about the activities of Nigerian Military to enhance the national unity”
He therefore appealed to the Media to be more understanding in the discharge of their professional duties in protecting the roles of the military in defending the territorial integrity of the country.
In his remarks, the Editor-in-Chief of Africa Stewardship News Magazine, Abraham Sule commended the Nigerian Army for its role in defending the country.
