Anyanwu Assumes Office as Lafiya Dole Sector Spokesperson

The newly-appointed Acting Assistant Director, Army Public Relations for Sector 2, in Operation Lafiya Dole (OPLD), Lt. Kennedy Anyanwu, has assumed office, in Damaturu, capital of Yobe State.

Before his appointment as Spokesperson of Sector 2, Lt. Anyanwu, was the Staff Officer 3 in charge of Information/Publication and Social Media, at the Directorate of Army Public Relations (DAPR), Army Headquarters, in Abuja.

Speaking at the handing over ceremony, the immediate-past spokesperson for the Sector, Lt. CP Oteh, thanked all officers and soldiers of Sector 2 for supporting him during his tenure.

He commended members of the State Chapter of Nigerian Union Journalists (NUJ) for their support, urging them to extend the good working relationship they had with him to his successor.

Oteh, expressed confidence in the capacity of the new spokesperson, saying he would handle both the media and public relations affairs of the Sector, effectively.

Lt. Anyanwu, on his part, thanked his predecessor, and wished him well in his future endeavours.

He reassured journalists in the State of robust media partnership with the Headquarters of Sector 2.

He disclosed that his tenure will open more channels of media parley with pressmen in the State.

“We would, by God’s willing, be organizing seminars and workshops for journalists and social media bloggers to boost their capacity, with a view to ensuring that they timely report Army’s activities to the general public, in line with the vision of our Commander, Brig. Gen. OO Oluyede,” Anyanwu said.

Highlights of the event were the signing of the handing and taking over notes, together with a group photograph.
