President Buhari Renews Tenures of Executives of River Basin Authorities

The President and Commander – in – Chief of the Armed Forces, Federal Republic of Nigeria, President Muhammadu Buhari, GCFR has approved the renewal/ appointment of Nine (9) Managing Directors and One (1) Executive Director for some of the River Basin Development Authorities with effect from Tuesday, 5th January, 2021.

The Managing Directors whose appointments were renewed for a Second and final Term are:
i. Prof. Abdulkarim Muhammad Ali, Managing Director, Upper Niger River Basin Development Authority, Minna.

ii. Dr. Adeniyi Saheed Aremu, Managing Director, Lower Niger River Basin Development Authority, Ilorin.

iii. Engr. Saliu O. Ahmed, Managing Director, Benin-Owena River Basin Development Authority, Benin City.

v. Mr. Olufemi Olayemi Odumosu, Managing Director, Ogun Osun River Basin Development Authority, Abeokuta.

vi. Engr. Bassey E. Nkposong, Managing Director, Cross River Basin Development Authority, Calabar; and

vii. Engr. Buhari Bature Mohammed, Managing Director, Sokoto Rima River Basin Development Authority, Sokoto.

The Managing Directors on First Term appointments are:
i. Ma’amun Da’u Aliyu, Managing Director, Hadejia Jama’are River Basin Development Authority, Kano.

ii. Mark Daso Darefaka, Managing Director, Niger Delta Basin Development Authority, Port Harcourt.

Mr. President also approved the appointment of Mr. Aminu Abba as Executive Director, Agricultural Services, Hadejia Jama’are River Basin Development Authority, Kano.
