Defence Minister Seeks Spiritual Weapons to Defeat Adversaries
The Minister of Defence, Maj Gen Bashir Salihi Magashi (retd) has urged Muslims to intensify prayer for peace in Nigeria in a solemn and low key celebration of Eid – el – Fitr.
General Magashi stated this in a statement felicitating with Muslim Ummah on the successful completion of fasting in the holy month of Ramadan and the concomitant celebration of Eid – el – fitr.
He urged Muslim faithfuls to extend the commitment in prayers exhibited during the month of Ramadan for continuous spiritual communiun and besieging of Almighty Allah to intervene in the internal security challenges bedeveling the country.
The Minister said the sacrifice and love for the country in addition to praying for its leadership for guidance and protection is an act of ibadah as clearly stated in the hadith of Prophet Muhammad( SAW)

While appealing to all Muslims on this special occasion to patriotically make peace in Nigeria their prayer point at individual, family and community levels, the minister assured of unrelenting efforts of troops to ensure that adversaries in all theatres of Operations are decimated.
The Minister who harped on the efficacy of prayers in turning the tide of war against the perpetrators of violence extremism, therefore eulogised the gallantry of the Fighting Forces currently firing from all sylinders and degrading the capabilities of the enemies of the state.
The defence Minister also call on all Nigerians to carry out their civic and patriotic duty at all times by giving timely information to security operatives to burst criminal tendencies in their domains.
He wish Muslims a hitch free Eid – el – Fitr celebrations and the country a rewarding experience in meeting national aspirations to end banditry, kidnapping and insurgency in the country.
