On behalf of the Commissioner of Police, Katsina State Command, CP Sanusi Buba, psc, this is to abreast you with the recent achievements made by the Command in the ongoing fight against crime and criminality in the state as reflected hereunder:
ARREST OF A KIDNAPPER/INFORMER TO BANDITS AND RECOVERY OF A MOTORCYCLE:- On the 19/8/2021 at about 0230hrs, the command succeeded in arresting one Abdulaziz Yusuf, ‘m’, a notorious kidnapper and informer to bandits. Nemesis caught up with the hoodlum when he master minded the kidnapping of one (1) Alh. Ibrahim Lado Umar, ‘m’ of Rijiya Mai Sumunti and (2) Joseph Ayo, ‘m’ of Lambar Rimi, Rimi LGA, where a ransom of five million naira (5,000,000.00) was paid to secure the release of the victims. In the course of investigation, the suspect Abdulaziz Yusuf was arrested in connection with the crime, where he confessed to be the master minder of the kidnapping of the duo and further stated that he received the sum of five hundred thousand naira (500,000.00) as his own share of the ransom, which he used in purchasing a brand new boxer motorcycle. He confessed to the commission of the offence. Exhibit recovered as investigation is ongoing.
ARREST OF A NOTORIOUS BANDIT/CATTLE RUSTLER AND AN INFORMER/RECEIVER OF RUSTLED ANIMALS: On the 17/9/2021 at about 1400hrs, the command succeeded in arresting the duo of one (1) Sanusi Adamu, ‘m’, aged 40 years, a notorious bandit terrorizing Faskari LGA and its environs and (2) Abdulhamid Magaji, ‘m’, aged 43 years, a notorious informer to bandits and receiver of rustled cows, all of Randama village, Faskari LGA, Katsina state. In the course of investigation, suspect Sanusi Adamu, confessed to have participated in several bandits’ in Katsina state including the recent attacks at Unguwan Sarki and Ararrabi villages of Faskari LGA of Katsina state, where unspecified numbers of cattle were rustled. He further confessed that the second suspect Abdulhamid Magaji is their informer and also a receiver of their rustled animals. In fact, he was the one that introduced him to the bandits. Investigation is ongoing.
ARREST OF A SUSPECTED ARMS SMUGGLER: On the 13/9/2021 at about 0900hrs, the command succeeded in arresting one Zaharaddeen Rabi’u alias “BAKI”, ‘m’, aged 25 years of Dan Ali village, Danmusa LGA, Katsina state. Nemesis caught up with the hoodlum when he was intercept along Malumfashi – Katsina road, upon instant search, one (1) empty shell and three (3) live rounds of 7.62mm ammunition were found in his possession. Suspect confessed to the commission of the offence. Investigation is ongoing.
ARREST OF A KIDNAPPER AND CATTLE RUSTLER: On the 14/9/2021 at about 1500hrs, the command succeeded in arresting one Jabiru Muhammed alias “DAN OGA”, ‘m’ aged 30yrs of Sabaru village, Tsafe LGA, Zamfara state, a notorious armed bandit. In the course of investigation, suspect confessed to be under the control of one Chairman, a notorious bandit hibernating in Zamfara forest. He further confessed to have participated in the attack of Saburu village, Tsafe LGA of Zamfara state where four children were kidnapped and the sum of two million naira (2,000,000.00) was paid as ransom. And attacks on Unguwar Dodo village, of Tsafe LGA of Zamfara state where shops were broken and food items and other items were stolen. He mentioned the Ward Head, one Mai Unguwa Zailani, Abdulkadir Kado and Bala Sani among his accomplices and particeps criminis. Investigation is ongoing.
ARREST OF A 19-YEAR-OLD CATTLE RUSTLER AND KIDNAPPER: On the 23/9/2021 at about 1600hrs, the command succeeded in arresting one Ibrahim Lawal alias “DURU”, ‘m’, 19 years old of Garin-Inu village, Batsari LGA of Katsina state. Investigation reveals that, the suspect belong to the camp of one Bammi Tsoho, residing at Dumburum forest, a notorious bandit leader who has been on the command’s wanted list, hibernating in Rugu forest. The suspect confessed to have participated in the attacks on Bugaje, Rayi and other villages in Batsari and Jibia LGAs were unspecified number of animals were rustled and people kidnapped. Investigation is ongoing.
ARREST OF A KIDNAPPER: On the 20/8/2021 at about 2330hrs, the command succeeded in arresting one Lawal Abubakar, ‘m’, aged 35 years of Walala village, Kusada LGA, a notorious kidnapper. The fact of the case was that, sometimes in the month of August, 2021, bandits attacked Unguwar Fari village, Musawa LGA, where they robbed and kidnapped two brothers by name (1) Alhaji Usman Muhammad, ‘m’, and (2) Alhaji Hamisu Muhammad, ‘m’, all of Unguwar Fari village, Musawa. Subsequently, investigation led to the arrest of the suspect one Lawal Abubakar, where sets of clothes and dozens of Kitchen soaps belongings to the victims were recovered in his possession. In the course, investigation, suspect confessed to have conspired with one Bello Haruna of the same address and others, now at large to commit the offense. Effort is on top gear to arrest the fleeing suspects. Investigation is ongoing.
ARREST OF A NOTORIOUS KIDNAPPER: On the 6/9/2021 at about 0200hrs, based on credible intelligence, the command succeeded in arresting one Suleiman Ibrahim, ‘m’, aged 35 years old of Unguwar Tambaya village, Dutsinma LGA, a notorious kidnapper and informer to bandits. In the course of investigation suspect confessed to have conspired with one (1) Abu Bature, ‘m’, (2) one Yahaya, ‘m’, and others (now at large) and attacked the residence of the Deputy Provost, Isa Kaita College of Education, Dutsinma, on 7th September, 2021, and kidnapped his three (3) children. Similarly, he confessed to have participated in the kidnapping of Managing Director, Sokoto Rima River Basin Authority were a ransom of seven million naira (N7,000,000) was collected as ransom. Suspect was arrested sometimes ago in connection with a case armed robbery and cattle rustling in which he is still standing trial at the High Court and was granted bail. Investigation is ongoing.
ARREST OF A NOTORIOUS KIDNAPPER AND CATTLE RUSTLER: On the 16/9/2021 at about 1300hrs, the Command succeeded in arresting one Surajo Mamman alias “KUTIKA”, ‘m’, aged 50yrs of Tulun Busawa village, a notorious kidnapper terrorizing the state. In the course of investigation, suspect confessed to be under the command of one Sani Muhidinge, a notorious, recalcitrant and unrepentant bandit leader hibernating in Rugu forest. He further confessed to have participated in so many attacks, kidnapping and cattle rustling in villages at Dan Musa, Safana, Dutsinma and Batsari LGA of the state. He confessed that he cannot remember the number of persons he killed or kidnapped. Investigation is ongoing.
ARREST OF AN INFORMANT TO BANDITS/KIDNAPPERS: On the 24/9/2021, the command succeeded in arresting one Aminu Sulaiman alias Tasha, ‘m’, Danmusa LGA, a notorious informer to bandits. The fact of the case was that on the 18/9/2021 at about 0130hrs, armed bandits numbering about ten (10) wielding AK47 riffles attacked Mai Tsauni village, Danja LGA of Katsina state, shot and injured one Usaini Basiru, ‘m’, and kidnapped one Abubakar Jafar. In the course of investigation, suspect Aminu Sulaiman was arrested in connection with the offense and confessed to have invited the bandits with the intent to kidnap one Lawal Jafaru. Investigation is ongoing.
ARREST OF AN ARMED ROBBER AND CATTLE RUSTLER: On the 13/9/2021, the command succeeded in arresting one Ado Namarai, ‘m’, of Bugaje, Jibia LGA, a notorious armed robber, kidnapper and cattle rustler. Nemesis caught up with the hoodlum when he called one Alh. Haruna Mai wada Masanawa, ‘m’, on phone threatening him to pay the sum of five million (5,000,000.00) naira or risk been kidnapped. In the course of investigation, the suspect was traced and arrested where he confessed to the offense and other series of Kidnapping, cattle rustling and armed robbery. Investigation is ongoing.
