Customs, Immigration Services Strengthen Collaboration in Katsina

In a move to enhance border security in the Northwestern region, the, in his office.

During the meeting, the two officials discussed key issues, including intelligence sharing and the continuation of their mutual cordial relationship and collaboration.

Comptroller Mahmoud assured the Coordinator of his total support and cooperation, emphasizing the importance of proper documentation in controlling migration.

“The collaboration between the Immigration Service and Customs is crucial in ensuring the security and integrity of our borders,” said Comptroller Mahmoud. “We are committed to working closely with our counterparts to enhance border control and address any challenges that may arise.”

In his remarks, Comptroller Abubakar of the customs expressed gratitude for the warm reception and solicited continued support and cooperation to strengthen border security in the region.

The meeting underscores the ongoing efforts of the Nigerian government to promote interagency cooperation and improve the management of the country’s borders. By fostering a strong partnership between the Immigration Service and Customs, the authorities aim to effectively tackle cross-border issues and maintain a secure environment for the people of Katsina and the entire Northwest region.

In another development, Comptroller Mahmoud, has met with the executive members of the Nigerien Association residing in Katsina and urged them to foster peaceful coexistence and compliance with the rules and regulations in Nigeria.

He stressed the significance of peaceful coexistence between Nigeriens living in in the country. He also emphasized the importance of proper documentation, compliance with existing rules and regulations, and warned against engaging in activities that may lead to problems.

“It is crucial that all foreigners residing in Nigeria, including our neighbors from Niger Republic, respect the laws and regulations of the country,” said CIS Adamu Mohammed Mahmoud. “We encourage peaceful coexistence and urge everyone to refrain from any illegal activities that could cause issues.”

Alhaji Garba Tunfafi, a patron of the Nigerien Association, expressed gratitude for the important updates and assured continuous support and cooperation. He promised that the association would remain law-abiding and contribute to the development of the state and country.

“We appreciate the guidance provided by the Comptroller and are committed to working closely with the authorities to ensure that our members are in full compliance with the laws,” said Alhaji Garba Tunfafi. “As an association, we will continue to promote peaceful coexistence and contribute to the progress of Nigeria.”

The meeting underscores the importance of open communication and collaboration between the Nigerian authorities and the foreign communities residing in the country. By fostering understanding and compliance, the Immigration Service aims to maintain a peaceful and secure environment for all.
