Nigerian Military Establishes Relief Camps in Borno for Flood Victims
The Nigerian military has established relief camps in Borno State to provide aid to victims of the recent flood disaster caused by the collapse of the Alou Dam in Konduga Local Government Area.
PRNigeria reports that the flood has displaced millions of residents in Maiduguri, damaging infrastructure such as roads, hospitals, farmland, and power lines.
As the military’s swift response to the disaster has been immense, with rescue and rehabilitation efforts already underway.
The Chief of Defence Staff, General Christopher Gwabin Musa, has directed the Theater Commander Operation Hadin Kai to offer all necessary assistance to victims.

General Musa assured that the Armed Forces of Nigeria will work closely with the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) and other relevant authorities to provide immediate relief and support to affected communities.
He expressed deep sympathy and condolences to the government and people of Borno State over the devastating flood.
In a statement by the Director Defence Information, Brigadier General Tukur Gusau, noted that the CDS was saddened by the loss of lives, destruction of property, and displacement of citizens due to the flood.
He said the Armed Forces of Nigeria stands in solidarity with the people of Borno State and will ensure all affected communities are evacuated to safety and supported in ongoing rescue and rehabilitation efforts.
Citing the CDS, the statement said the military remain committed to supporting the Federal and Borno state governments’ efforts to alleviate the suffering of those impacted by the flood.
He prayed for the repose of the souls of those who lost their lives and wished the injured a speedy recovery.
