Military Nabs Suspected Terrorist Logistics Suppliers in Borno, Katsina Operations
Troops of the Nigerian Army have recorded fresh operational successes in the ongoing fight against terrorism, arresting two suspected terrorist collaborators in separate intelligence-led operations in Borno and Katsina states.
In Borno State, troops of Operation HADIN KAI, in collaboration with members of the Civilian Joint Task Force (CJTF), arrested a 23-year-old suspected logistics supplier to Boko Haram/ISWAP terrorists during an intelligence-driven operation in Gubio Local Government Area.
Security sources said the operation was carried out at about 3:00 p.m. on July 15 by troops of the 149 Battalion following credible human intelligence.
The suspect, identified as Ali Umar, was intercepted while allegedly carrying out logistics activities for terrorists operating along the Binduldul–Kareto axis.
Items recovered from him included a Volkswagen Golf vehicle with registration number BO KGG 268AA and a Tecno mobile phone.

During preliminary interrogation, the suspect allegedly confessed to supplying Premium Motor Spirit (PMS), commonly known as petrol, to Boko Haram/ISWAP fighters operating in the area. He remains in the custody of the 149 Battalion for further investigation and other necessary actions.
In a separate operation in Katsina State, troops attached to the convoy of the Commander, 17 Brigade, arrested a suspected terrorist during a routine movement in Yantumaki, Danmusa Local Government Area.
The suspect was apprehended at about 3:14 p.m. on July 15 after troops reportedly became suspicious of his movements.
A search of the suspect’s mobile phone allegedly revealed a video showing him posing with an AK-47 rifle.
Further search led to the recovery of a motorcycle, two mobile phones, a photocopy of a National Identity Card, an ATM card, one SIM card and ₦5,020 in cash.
The suspect has been taken into military custody as investigators work to establish his alleged links to terrorist activities and determine the appropriate legal action.
The arrests underscore the sustained efforts of the Nigerian Army and other security agencies to dismantle terrorist networks, disrupt logistics and supply chains, and deny criminal elements freedom of operation across the North-East and North-West regions.
