Troops Intercept ISWAP Food Supply, Arrest Suspected Logistics Supplier in Borno
Troops of Operation HADIN KAI have arrested a suspected logistics supplier to the Boko Haram/Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP) terrorist group during a successful ambush operation in Borno State, intercepting a consignment of food items allegedly destined for insurgents operating along the Jakana–Mulam axis.
The operation, carried out at about 10:00 p.m. on July 13, was conducted by troops of the 273 Task Force Tank Battalion in collaboration with members of the Forest Guard as part of ongoing strangulation operations designed to disrupt terrorist supply networks in the North-East.
According to security sources, the troops laid an ambush along a suspected logistics route where they intercepted the suspect, identified as Kazalal Modu, while conveying assorted food items and other materials believed to be intended for Boko Haram/ISWAP fighters.

Items recovered from the suspect included five cartons of spaghetti, 191 packs of digestive biscuits, two black nylon bags containing sugar, torchlights, a bicycle used to transport the supplies and ₦10,000 in cash.
The suspect has been taken into custody and is undergoing preliminary interrogation to determine the intended recipients of the supplies and identify other members of the terrorist logistics network operating in the area.
Military authorities said the operation is part of sustained efforts by Operation HADIN KAI to weaken the operational capability of Boko Haram and ISWAP by targeting not only their fighters but also the networks responsible for providing food, fuel, medicines and other critical supplies.
They noted that the ongoing strangulation operations have become a key component of the counter-insurgency campaign in the North-East, disrupting terrorist logistics, restricting the movement of essential supplies and limiting the ability of insurgent groups to regroup and sustain their operations after battlefield setbacks.
