Over the weekend, the crème de la crème of Kano state sons and daughters turned out en masse to identify with the Accountant General of the Federation; Alhaji Ahmed Idris who was honoured along with Prof Umar Garba Danbatta, Vice Chairman of NCC and Prof Danbaba Sule of Bank of Agriculture, by the Executive Governor of Kano State, Alhaji Umaru Gandoje.
Speaking during the event which held at the Africa hall in the Government house, Kano State, Governor Alhaji Umaru Gandoje hailed the appointment of Alhaji Ahmed Idris as the Accountant General of the Federation, describing it as a thing of pride for an indigene of Kano to be so trusted by the President to be assigned the custody of the nations treasury.
The Governor described the Accountant General of the Federation as a man who has been tested and trusted to be above corruption and expressed confidence in the professional and technical competence of Alhaji Idris to excel in his assignment.

Speaking earlier the Chairman of the occasion, Alhaji Dr Yusuf Maitama Sule, the Dan Masanin Kano, said that following the election of President Buhari and pedigree of the people he has appointed to work with him, Nigeria is own it way to being what it was destined to be, the leader of Africa and the Black World.
Dr Maitama Sule averred that the problem of Nigeria had been that of lack of good leadership and expressed optimism that with President Muhammadu Buhari and the people he has appointed so far, corruption will soon be reduced to the barest minimum if not eradicated.
He described the Accountant General and other appointees being honoured by the state as being the panacea to the problems of the Nigerian society and asked them not to disappoint him and the people of Kano.
While expressing their appreciation for the honour, the Managing Director of the Bank of Agriculture, Prof Danbaba Danju, thanked the Government and people of Kano state and pledged their commitment to the ideals of the Buhari led government and the development of Kano State.
