New Perm Sec Assumes duty in Planning Ministry
The newly posted Permanent Secretary to the Ministry of Budget and National Planning, Ernest A. Umakhile has assumed duty with a promise to be a team player with a leadership role of dividing task and multiplying successes.
Umakhihe was among the Permanent Secretaries sworn in on February 20,, 2019 by President Muhammad Buhari.
He assumed duty (today), Friday, March 29, 2019 after the retirement of former Permanent Secretary, Mr. Olajide Samson Odewale
In a brief hand-over ceremoney in Abuja, Umakhihe said he was aware of the herculean task ahead of him to achieve success, but he won’t be saying what he knows, but will be a listener to learn about what is obtainable in the Ministry. In his words

Earlier in his remarks, the out-going permanent Secretary, Olajide Samson Odewale, appreciated the support given to him by the staff of the ministry, and assured the in coming permanent secretary that he would enjoy the same from the management and staff of the ministry.
In his vote of thanks, Dr Zakari Lawal, the Director, Monitoring and Evaluation in the Ministry, wished Mr Odewale success in his future endeavors and assured the incoming permanent Secretary that they will work closely with him to succeed in achieving the mandate of the Ministry.
He explained that the ministry is a key driver for all planning matters, monitoring and evaluation and budgeting.
The new permanent secretary was conducted round the offices and premises of the ministry after the handing over by the outgoing permanent secretary.
