Armed Bandits: Police Nab Killers of Katsina District Head, Others

On 3/12/2021 the Command succeeded in arresting one Yusuf Abdullahi, “M”, aged 20yrs of Kagara village, Matazu LGA of Katsina state, a member of notorious syndicate of bandits that attacked the residence of former District Head of Yantumaki, Late Alhaji Abubakar Atiku, ‘M’, aged 55yrs shot and killed him together with his night watchman, late Gambo Isah.

In the course of investigation, suspect confessed to have participated in the commission of the offence along with the following suspected bandits: (1) Shamsu (2) Ibrahim (3) Salmanu and (4) Kabir (now at large, hibernating in the forest).

ARREST OF A NOTORIOUS

TRANS-BORDER CAR THEIVES AND RECOVERY OF TWO STOLEN MOTOR VEHICLES: Today 07/12/2021 at about 0930hrs, based on credible intelligence, the Command succeeded in smashing a notorious syndicate of trans-border car thieves that specializes in stealing of motor vehicles from Kano Jigawa, Kaduna and Katsina and disposing them up at Niger Republic.

Nemesis caught up with members of the syndicate when they were accosted with a stolen motor vehicle, Toyota, Camry, light blue, with registration number JJJ 340 EF and another motor vehicle, Honda, CRV, ash in colour, with registration number DKA 980 AH at a mechanical workshop at Kofar Sauri – Kaita road, Katsina.

In the course of investigation, suspect confessed to have stolen the motor vehicles from Kano and on their way to dispose it at Niger Republic. Suspect confessed to have disposed up seven (7) motor vehicles at the same Niger Republic. The following items were also recovered from their possession during search: master key, two knives, bunch of different motor vehicles keys, three (3) pliers, two screw drivers, one hammer, one hacksaw, and a bag containing electrical repairs tools. Investigation is ongoing.

ARREST OF SUSPECTED ARMED ROBBERS: On 29/11/2021 at about 2110hrs, the command succeeded in arresting one Abba Ibrahim alias ‘Gwanki’, a notorious armed robber that specializes in attacking unsuspecting Okada riders and robbed them of their motorcycles. Nemesis caught up with the suspect when he stabbed one Yusuf Abdulkadir, ‘M’, of Sabuwar Unguwa Quarters, Katsina with a sharp knife on the head and robbed him of his motorcycle, Boxer, red in colour and while he was trying to escape with the motorcycle, the victim raised alarm and shouted for help. With the assistance of good Samaritans, suspect was apprehended and handed over to the police.

ARREST OF A NOTORIOUS TRANS-BORDER DRUG TRAFFICKER: On the 25/11/2021 at about 1800hrs, the Command succeeded in arresting one Murtala Rabi’u, ‘m’, aged 30 years of Gungura village, Niger Republic, a notorious trans-border drug trafficker that specializes in trafficking of drugs across the borders of Nigeria and Niger Republic. Luck ran out of the suspect, when he was intercepted along Kalgo to Koza road, conveying ten (10) rolls of neatly packaged parcels of dried leaves suspected to be Indian hemp and ten (10) sachets of D5 drugs on his unregistered Daylong motorcycle to Niger republic.

BUSTING OF A SYNDICATE OF CULTISTS AND ARREST OF TWO (2) SUSPECTED CULT MEMBERS: On the 10/11/2021 at about 1700hrs, based on credible intelligence, the Command succeeded in arresting the duo of one Sani Abdulwaheed alias ‘Ghost’ ‘m’ aged 28 years of Kofar Janta, Alim, Illorin, Kwara state and one Owade Abdullahi Oyetunji, ‘M’, aged 24 years of Ajegunle area, Oyo state, all residing at Dogon Karfe Quarters, Dutsinma, suspected cult ring leaders. In the course of investigation, the following exhibits were recovered:

ARREST OF SIXTEEN (16) SUSPECTED VANDALS OF GOVERNMENT INSTALLATIONS AT KOFAR KAURA, KATSINA: On 01/12/2021 at about 2000hrs, based on credible information, the command succeeded in arresting sixteen (16) suspected vandals of Government property in Katsina Metropolis. Suspects were arrested at Kofar Kaura area vandalizing Government installations, at the newly approved site for the construction of the underpass costing millions of naira.

All of various addresses, upon instant search, two (2) shovels, one (1) digger and some quantity of cable wires were recovered from them. Investigation is ongoing.

ARREST OF A BANDIT, INFORMANT TO BANDITS AND SUPPLIER OF FOOD ITEMS TO BANDITS: On 02/12/2021 at about 1600hrs, the Command succeeded in arresting one SANI SULE alias SHERELE, suspected bandit, informant to bandits and supplier of necessities to bandits. Suspect was arrested in a suspicious manner concealing his presence at Yantumaki Market. In the course of investigation, suspect confessed to be a member of syndicate of bandits terrorizing Danmusa and Matazu LGAs of Katsina state and supplier of necessities to bandits. He confessed to have rustled thirty cows belonging to one Alh Ango and Alh Shadari all of Sahawa, Matazu LGA of the state.
