He said: “Only recently, President Muhammadu Buhari signed into law, the Environmental Health Officers Act, to empower EHCON in effectively carrying out its regulatory activities”.

In his welcome address, Sanitarian Yakubu Mohammed Baba, the Register/CEO of EHCON, explained that the objective of setting up the Environmental Health Business Forum is to establish a robust and reliable Environmental Health Business Model with special attention to local provisioning of Materials, Tools, Facilities, Equipment and Machinery, among others.

“The Forum will also explore the potentials in Environmental Health Business as vital contributor to the Gross Domestic Product of Nigeria.

“It will also provide an enabling environment for the integration and formalization of Artisanal Environmental Health Trades to full-fledged Environmental Health Services,” he said.
