
NAF, Police Deepen Strategic Communication to Boost National Security
The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) and the Nigeria Police Force (NPF) have reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening inter-agency collaboration through enhanced strategic communication to support national security objectives.
The renewed commitment was made during a courtesy visit by the newly appointed Force Public Relations Officer, Chief Superintendent of Police (CSP) Anietie Okokon Edem Iniedu, to the Director of Public Relations and Information of the Nigerian Air Force, Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame, at the NAF Headquarters in Abuja on Tuesday.
The meeting highlighted the importance of coordinated communication, information sharing and public engagement in promoting national security and strengthening public confidence in Nigeria’s security institutions.
During the engagement, both senior public affairs officials stressed the need for closer collaboration in communicating the activities and strategic objectives of their respective organisations. They noted that improved synergy would help reinforce public trust, counter misinformation and project a unified national security narrative.

Speaking during the visit, CSP Iniedu outlined the Nigeria Police Force’s ongoing drive towards community-led and intelligence-driven policing, aimed at strengthening partnerships with citizens, improving intelligence gathering and promoting proactive policing nationwide.
He urged members of the Armed Forces and the general public to make use of the Nigeria Police Force Complaint Response Unit as a credible platform for reporting complaints, sharing information and providing feedback to enhance police accountability and service delivery.
The Force spokesperson also publicised the unit’s dedicated contact lines, noting that timely information and constructive public engagement remain critical to enabling the Police to respond effectively to security concerns and improve service delivery.
Responding, Air Commodore Ejodame welcomed the initiative and described strategic communication and inter-agency cooperation as indispensable tools for addressing Nigeria’s evolving security challenges.
He said collaboration among security agencies is essential to building public confidence, strengthening national resilience and achieving shared security objectives in an increasingly complex security environment.
The visit concluded with the exchange of goodwill messages to the Chief of the Air Staff, Air Marshal Sunday Kelvin Aneke, and the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Disu, reaffirming the commitment of both institutions to deepen cooperation in the interest of national security and sustainable national development.
