Okowa hails FG’s BHCPF
The Delta State Governor, Senator Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa has applauded the Federal Government led by President Mohammadu Buhari, GCFR, for the take-off of Basic Health care Provision Fund, which seeks to reform how health care is financed and delivered in Nigeria.
Senator Okowa, who made the commendation today in his office, when the team from the Federal Ministry of Health, led by the Permanent Secretary, Mr. Abdulaziz Mashi Abdullahi, paid him a visit, noted that the gesture from the Federal government pointed to the fact that the government was committed to improving the health of Nigerians.

He therefore called on the Delta State health officials to make sure all the necessary structures were put in place to facilitate the swift implementation of Huwe in Delta State.
Earlier, the Permanent Secretary Mr. Abdulaziz Mashi Abdullahi commended the Delta state government for meeting all the criteria such as opening of the five mandatory bank accounts, putting in place the state steering committee, amongst others.
Mr Abdullahi informed the Governor that the rollout had been carried out in three states, Osun, Niger and Abia with Delta state scheduled for tomorrow July 3, 2019.
The Permanent Secretary was accompanied by the officials of the Federal Ministry of Health, National Primary Healthcare Development Agency (NPHCDA) and the National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS).
