The Accountant General of the Federation, Alhaji Ahmed Idris has once again re-stated has pledge to uphold the tenets of transparency, probity and accountability in the course of discharging his duties as the Accountant General of the Federation.
Alhaji Idris gave this assurance over the weekend at a reception organized for him by the Management and Staff of the Federal Ministry of Mines and Steel Development in Abuja.
He described as huge, the task of managing the Nation’s Treasury, saying it is burden of trust from God, the President and Nigerians and asked for the support and prayers of the Nigerians to enable him succeed.
Alhaji Idris expressed his appreciation to the Staff and Management of the Ministry of Mines and Steel for the honour done him and promised not to betray the confidence they reposed in him.
Earlier, the Permanent Secretary of Federal Ministry of Mines and Steel Development, Alhaji Baba Umar Farouk, extolled Alhaji Ahmed Idris for the prudent and transparent manner he managed their resources while he served as Director of Finance at the Ministry.
He described his appointment as the Accountant General of the Federation as a reward for his faithfulness and commitment to duty, saying he was confident that Alhaji Idris will succeed in his new assignment.
Furthermore, the Permanent Secretary, urged Alhaji Idris to bring to bear his wealth of experience and team spirit in his new assignment saying that these attributes will help him to succeed.
There were also commendations and advice from friends and colleagues of Alhaji Ahmed Idris at the Federal Ministry of Mines and Steel Development, who wished him well in his assignment.
